Gus Van Sant's darkly funny true-crime thriller is the standout drop of the week. Bill Skarsgård plays Tony Kiritsis — a real 1977 Indianapolis man who wired a sawed-off shotgun to his mortgage broker's neck and walked him through the city streets. Al Pacino, Dacre Montgomery, and Colman Domingo round out a cast that fires on all cylinders.

Critics call it "brilliantly offbeat," "gripping," and "Van Sant at his best." The 91% Tomatometer is no accident.
